'ANIMA' refers to the Latin word for spirit, soul, breath. Throughout the book, the
Norwegian photographer allows bodies, objects, and landscapes to appear quietly
alive — as moments of encounter and silent discovery.
'ANIMA' has been described as mythic and deeply tactile — marked by a resolute
attentiveness to what we so often walk past and leave unseen, inviting the reader
into moments of beauty and presence.
What began as a dream of refuge-a Norwegian island shore unknown to her family-slowly turned into a long-term period of personal challenge. Following a severe
brain infection caused by tick bites, the photographer’s world gradually narrowed to
an eighty-meter radius around her home-a small circle that later became the quiet
frame for this poetic work.
“I could not walk far, so I learned to go deeper.”
Each copy features hand-painted page edges.
