Between Two Poles By Michael Durand, Signed & Numbered

Designed in concertina format of twelve pages, the pages fold out to produce a panoramic 1.2meters long. The book merges conventions from photography and film with those of historical depictions of narrative through visual storytelling. As with examples such as the Bayeaux Tapestry the viewer moves through space as the story unfolds before them.
The individual images were each deliberately captured in a single location but over a period of time, in a manner which considers the unfolding nature of narrative and time. In Between Two Poles fact and truth are there, ultimately though in this liminal space it is the viewer who dictates the narrative by the way they fold the piece out.
Presented in its own box with an essay by Siobhán Enright. Each book is signed and individually numbered
