Forty Foot, Hasan Yıkıcı

"Forty Foot has always been a place of escape for me. At times it feels dreamlike, almost
imaginary; at other times, it feels like a shared refuge, a place where everyone who goes
there carries the same desire; to get away, to breathe, to disappear for a while.
For more than a year, often after work, I took the Dart from Pearse Station to Forty Foot,
trying simply to record the beauty I witnessed and the moments I was lucky enough to be
part of. I met wonderful people along the way. I became a witness to the extraordinary
beauty of sunsets; I was swept up in the laughter and joy of young people. After more than a year, this small project emerged as the result of that journey." (Words by Hasan Yıkıcı)
