"'Kurtosis' is a statistical measure that describes how the intensity (in terms of brightness, contrast, etc.) of the pixels in an image is distributed. Through a technique involving multiple steps, I wanted to reflect in this project the impact of each human movement and the trajectory that surrounds it. To achieve this effect of superimposing images from the same sequence and focusing attention on the subject, I used editing techniques such as digital kurtosis and colour inversion. Human networks show that we are in transit, history in motion, and the street is the mirror where our footprints are recorded without our knowing it. The photographs in the collection aim to show the invisible traces we leave behind." (Words by Alicia Basulto)
