Bringing together an intimate collection of images, this publication traces Ellis’s shift from documentary approaches to a more psychological use of landscape, where geothermal sites, industrial machinery and unstable terrains become charged with questions of memory, identity, repression, desire and belonging.

Rooted in the artist’s experience of growing up queer in rural Ireland, the work moves between the personal and the universal, using landscape to give form to experiences that are difficult to articulate directly. The publication offers an extended encounter with the series, allowing its images, rhythms and recurring motifs to unfold across the page.
