Exhibition September - October 2000

The Gallery of Photography presents an exhibition from Jacqueline Hassink titled The Table of Power which depicts the boardroom tables of multinational corporations that make the top forty list of the largest industrial companies of Europe. Each image is accompanied by a small caption that informs the viewer of basic facts about the company such as the location, industry, turnover and its chart spot in the list.

Besides being exhibited in the Gallery, all of this material has been put into a small, beautifully produced book, The Table of Power.

About the artist: Jacqueline Hassink was born in July 1966 in the Netherlands. She is known for her projects that deal with the world of economic power. She has studied at the Art Academy of Rotterdam, Netherlands, 1988, Royal Art Academy of The Hague, Netherlands, 1991 and the
Art Academy of Trondheim, Norway.
