Tony O'Shea Books — Photo Museum Ireland

Tony O'Shea photographs the moment where ritual and the casual face each other in the complex light of Irish skies. As Colm Tóibín has written, O'Shea seeks images of individual loneliness, figures in reverie, or figures in excitement: the camera as uneasy, tentative window into the soul.

PMI holds two significant titles. Kingdom of Hounds, a signed limited special edition with print, documents thirty years of annual return to the Kerry Beagle drag hunt - O'Shea's neighbours and friends, photographed from inside a community an outsider would never access. The Light of Day, a signed first edition, brings together his broader practice: what Photo Museum Ireland has described as hard-hitting, eloquent pictures capturing the complexities of a country undergoing profound change.

Both editions are limited. Every purchase directly supports the photographer through PMI's consignment programme.
