Loose Associations is The Photographers’ Gallery's printed journal, offering a diverse set of reflections on photography and image culture. Loosely inspired by the gallery’s exhibition programme, LA includes essays both written and visual, artist pages, images, interviews, fiction and philosophy from a wide range of contributors. 

Alongside Gregory Crewdson's major exhibition at The Photographers' Gallery Cathedral of the Pines, this issue takes imaginative leaps inside the frames of the artist's images and the minds of his characters, pushing at the mysteries he evokes, without unravelling them. In essays, fiction, prose poetry and interviews with Crewdson, this issue features contributions from Clare Grafik, Nick Grosso, Jax Miller, Thurston Moore, Alexander Nemerov, Laura Pannack, Natasha Plowright and Lucy Soutter.
